I haven't updated the club website in quite some time - since before the Western Regionals! That's an unfortunate thing because our club has had a lot going on since then, and we have had a great time at trial too.
At the Western Regionals on May 12-14, we had great success. Carol Hambrook and her dog Haska v Landesburg were the first place SchH II team with a 97-90-94/281. In the SchH III's we did very well placing first, second, and fourth. Those positions were filled by Ralph Gilby (100-96-91/287), Moira Sutherland (99-94-92/285), and Karen Sinclair (99-85-88/272), with their dogs Bali, Billie, and Ule, respectively.
In late May, our club had Wolfgang Tuchs(SV) in from Germany for a week-long, private seminar and then a trial to round out the week. It was a lot of fun, and many of us learned a great deal. The trial was small, and right now, I dont have the results handy, so I'll post them in the forum when I find them.
The Nationals were another place we had success as a club both on and off the field this year. We would of course like to congratulate our club friends from SVISC, Jean Fischer and her dog Ukas, for their win at the Nationals with a 96-93-96/285! With that said, our own Ralph Gilby came in second place with 95-91-93/279 to earn a spot on Team Canada, too.
Currently, we are training hard, and helping Ralph getting prepped for his trip to the WUSV championship.
We are hosting a regional fundraiser for Jean and Ralph, our two regional representatives on Team Canada, this Saturday, September 16th, at the Delta SchH Club. Come one, come all and help raise money for these two!
On a disappointing note, the Delta Schutzhund Club will be losing our magnificent property on the bluff in Delta. The bulldozers are being serviced and are set to roll through the club grounds sometime in October. This may leave us without a home this fall, but we are working diligently to secure new club grounds.
In a nutshell, there you have it. I will add all the photos I have taken at trials this year as soon as I sift through all 1500+ photos I have taken. Yes, that many...
I also need to upgrade the back-end to this website. Since MySQL/PHP are not truly my forte, I expect problems. So, if the website is gone for a day or three, you'll know why ahead of time.
